Recent Highlights
In July, the CyberHub PGH Team hosted our first working groups. The groups met to discuss challenges in training, recruiting, and placing talent. We had an excellent turnout, with 42 individuals participating in total.
The energy in the room was optimistic, action-oriented, and collaborative. It is safe to say that we are eager to move forward collectively as a sector and happy to have you here.
Here are a few key takeaways:
Higher Education
Attract more Cyber Security companies to the region.
Help students build portfolios that reflect their education, experience, and skills, aligning with employer needs.
Ensure cybersecurity training and opportunities are accessible to any learner, regardless of background or education level.
Workforce
Address the disconnect between available training and employer needs.
Increase employer awareness of wrap-around supports (e.g., transportation, childcare).
Partner with HR and hiring managers to align job descriptions with the right candidate profiles and identify who in the region does this particularly well.
